Sustainability
This course serves as a springboard for educators looking to have a deep understanding of sustainability and responsible living and instill this into their students. Beginning with a foundational understanding of the prevailing environmental challenges, participants will engage in a journey of personal and professional growth towards becoming ambassadors of sustainable living. The curriculum is designed to not only impart knowledge but to foster a shift in attitudes and behaviors conducive to a sustainable lifestyle, both personally and professionally.
Objectives:
- Acquire a solid understanding of sustainable development, sustainable living, and responsible consumption.
- Learn how to teach and instill these subjects into students, to form sustainable and eco-conscious societies.
- Delve into the science and economics of climate change, exploring the implications of our current linear growth paradigm.
- Learn effective strategies for reducing, reusing, and recycling to mitigate environmental impacts.
- Explore alternative transportation options, sustainable grocery shopping practices, and eco-conscious fashion choices.
- Develop a toolkit of practical, engaging, and interactive resources to effectively teach sustainability concepts to students.

- 20 hours (1 week): Classes from Monday to Friday

COURSE FEES:
- 20h (1 week): €400 per person.
- 40h (2 weeks): €800 per person.
- Including all material + 2 Extracurricular activities (free and optional).

- Eco-Course Classes: Engage in dynamic sessions exploring the core themes of sustainability, including climate change awareness, responsible consumption, and ecological footprint reduction.
- Afternoon Activities: Participate in guided tours to local museums and cultural sites, emphasizing the environmental narrative and showcasing successful sustainability initiatives.
- Practical Exercises: Undertake hands-on exercises, group projects, and interactive discussions to apply learned concepts in real-world contexts.
- Digital Climate Action: Utilize digital tools to enhance understanding and engagement in outdoor activities focused on climate action and sustainable practices.
- Resource Development: Create a personalized toolbox filled with fact-based information, statistics, videos, case studies, and adaptable exercises to facilitate the integration of sustainability themes into your teaching practice.
Assessment:
- Reflection Paper: Reflect on personal lifestyle changes and developed competencies in teaching environmental sustainability.
- Resource Portfolio: Submit a portfolio of developed teaching resources demonstrating the integration of sustainability concepts into educational materials.
- Group Project Presentation: Collaborate on a project addressing a specific sustainability challenge, presenting findings and solutions to peers.
